Mozilla Firefox has never incorporated new features solely to bring the competition down
The Internet Explorer web browsing software application offered the tabbed browsing feature in version 7.0 because the Firefox web browsing software application offered the same and this distinction between the two web browsing software applications contributed a lot to the popularity of the Firefox web browser.
The Safari web browsing software application launched the Windows operating system version to ensure that owners of the Apple iPhone opted for the Safari web browsing software application instead of the Firefox web browsing software application.
In both instances, the actions of the developers of the web browsing software application wars were based on the popularity of its competitors. The actions were not aimed at enhancing the web browsing experience of the end user. Rather, they were simply aimed at enhancing the market share of the web browsing software application by bringing the competition down.
At no point of time has the Firefox web browsing software application resorted to such methods. The Firefox web browsing software application has never focused on simply matching the features of the most popular web browser of its times. If the developers of the Firefox web browsing software application had taken this approach, they never would have bothered to introduce the tabbed browsing feature in the web browsing software application. The biggest complaint against the Microsoft’s Internet Explorer web browsing software application was the fact that it was an insecure browser web browser.
The end user was not safe enough and the end users were always worried about attacks of the hackers or other persons with malicious intent. If the Firefox web browsing software application had been developed to simply defeat Internet Explorer, it could have achieved the same by simply enhancing the security features in the Firefox web browsing software application.
This improvement, combined with the fact that the Firefox web browser was a free web browser and an open source web browser, would have been sufficient to defeat the Internet Explorer. However, that was not in the basic purpose of the Firefox web browser.
Simply defeating the competitor and occupying the top spot does not benefit anybody. It is only by providing better features and better advantages to the end users does the World Wide Web improve and the web browsing experience of the end user improve.
This is what the Firefox web browsing software application focused on. The approach of the Microsoft’s Internet Explorer web browsing software application and other web browsing software application consisted of tactics aimed at simply restraining the competition as opposed to winning the market share on their own.
The other web browsing software applications seek to starve the end users of viable alternatives and seek to compel the end users to switch web browsers. Simply ensuring that your competitor goes out of business so that all his clients and customers have no choice but to choose you is a horrendous method of doing business.
This approach of the Internet Explorer web browsing software application resulted in the market being ignored after the web browser had succeeded in dominating the web browser market.
The fact that the Internet Explorer web browsing software application always focused on the market share and never focused on the betterment of the web browsing experience of the end user resulted in a scenario where it catered to the bare minimum requirements of the end users.
It never catered to the additional requirements of the end users. Rather, it always compelled the end users to compromise on their requirements and features expected from the web browsing software application. The Firefox web browsing software application does the opposite and this was the reason why hundreds and thousands of individuals switched to the Firefox web browser and downloaded the Firefox web browsing software application to surf the World Wide Web.
