Why Mozilla Firefox has won eighteen awards.
The Internet which has become an integral part of our lives is often becoming a very dangerous place to be in, because of the many security risks posed by viruses and hackers.
Moreover, applications that access the Internet as part of their normal operations may have errors in their code that allows hackers to launch attacks against the computer on which those applications are running. It is further weakened by the fast-growing threat of hackers who plan and implement large-scale hoaxes such as phishing and ID theft.
In view of all this, it’s clear that users need a reliable and secure web browser between them and the Internet, which will be free of these problems and won’t let harmful content invade the computer.
Firefox is an open-source browser developed by the Mozilla Foundation;. Mozilla is known for its strict approach to security, promising a reward of several thousand dollars for any major weaknesses found in the product.
Mozilla Firefox is universally popular; one important reason being it’s relative safety compared to other traditional browsers.
Hackers around the world are trying their best to break Firefox’s security code, but have not been very successful so far. Firefox is the greatest challenge for them.
Mozilla Firefox does not integrate with the operating systems like the Internet Explorer, thereby are not so vulnerable to the various virus attacks. It also does not support Active x controls, thereby reducing the risk of spyware and adware invasions.
Developers of the Firefox software have recently released additional security features open to all in an effort to lower the percentage of vulnerability to virus attacks.
While no browser is perfect, major security lapses happened rather more frequently with IE than with Firefox.
The open-source design of Firefox contributes to the overall safety of the browser; a group of skilled programmers can spot problems more quickly and correct them as and when they surface.
From the threat response standpoint, Firefox is clearly the winner. The innovative Firefox browser makes surfing the web faster and safer. With tabbed browsing you can view more than one page at a window and therefore save a lot of time.
Since the google toolbar is now included in the browser, features like AutoFill and SpellCheck will make browsing more convenient.
Moreover the enhanced search box suggests queries as you type.
Tabbed browsing in Firefox lets you load Web pages in separate tabs of a single browser window, so you can jump between them quickly and easily. Perhaps you’re reading a news story and want to follow an interesting link without losing your place in the original story. With tabbed browsing, you can do this without filling your desktop with new, unorganized browser windows.
You notice how much faster and easier it is to stay up to date, with your favorite news, explore search results, and shop multiple Web sites at once. With new drag and drop reordering, you can also rearrange your tabs however you like.
If you have a set of tabs open and you want to bookmark them all at once, select Bookmark all Tabs from the Bookmarks menu to create a bookmark folder that contains them.
It is no wonder Mozilla is the proud recipient of eighteen awards until now.
