Which service catered exclusively to Mozilla Firefox till recently?? Guesses?
If you have ever noticed, almost all the websites on the Internet have a small line at the end of the home page that says- ‘best viewed with Microsoft's Internet Explorer version so and so’. I may not know about you but whenever I used to read that line, I used to feel very annoyed. I used to feel very annoyed about the fact that Microsoft’s Internet Explorer still remained the number one web browsing software application in the world despite the fact that Mozilla Firefox is far better in each and every aspect.
Hence, it was a matter of great pride for me when I read that StumbleUpon has finally launched a plug- in that will make the toolbar compatible with Microsoft's Internet Explorer as well. Till then, StumbleUpon was one of the few website and toolbars that catered exclusively to Mozilla Firefox. That is to say, if one wanted to make use of the StumbleUpon toolbar and enjoy its wonderful service, it was essential for the person to get the Mozilla Firefox web browsing software application installed on the computer.
There was no doubt that StumbleUpon would include Microsoft’s Internet Explorer as well. Considering the fact that Microsoft’s Internet Explorer controls over eighty percentage of the market, no service provider can afford to ignore the same. However, the fact that Mozilla Firefox was so popular that StumbleUpon managed to run its service profitably without incorporating service to Microsoft’s Internet Explorer is something that made me very happy indeed. It would indeed be a very happy day for me when the majority of the websites on the Internet state that their site is best viewed through Mozilla Firefox version so and so
However, I believe it would be very harmful for the whole of the market for a single web browsing software application to rule the market as Microsoft's Internet explorer did. I guess I just will have to be satisfied with seeing Mozilla Firefox as one of the most popular web browsing software applications.
