Postponement of introduction of features to Mozilla 3.0 is bad news for fans
The delay in the introduction of certain features to be introduced in Mozilla Firefox version 2 and the postponement of the same to Mozilla Firefox version 3 will give its critics an opportunity to say that it will be impossible for any new version of Mozilla Firefox to impress the public in general to the same extent and magnitude.
The critics have not wasted any time in pointing out that Mozilla Firefox will be forced to discover that public support is a very fickle mistress. The hype and hoopla around Mozilla Firefox can work to its disadvantage. How??? It is very simple. Just as each and every small and seemingly insignificant success of Mozilla Firefox was highlighted in bold detail, each and every flaw in Mozilla Firefox will be highlighted in bold.
The worst part is that the people doing this will not be the critics and Mozilla Firefox haters. The people who will be criticizing, ridiculing and demonizing Mozilla Firefox for its failure will be the same people who converted a good web browsing software application called Mozilla Firefox into a global force to reckon with.
To tell you the truth, I do not think the delay is that big a deal! However, I did not think Mozilla Firefox was such a big deal as well. Hence, there is no saying how the public mood will shift. If the euphoria gets converted into a rage, there will be no end to the dip in the popularity of Mozilla Firefox.
It will be quite some time before saner elements step in and the whole issue is put in perspective. One can say for certain, people have become so emotional about Mozilla Firefox that god help Mozilla Firefox if Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 7.0 turns out to be better Mozilla Firefox version 2
