Mozilla versions with releasing date & code name
In this article, we will discussed the various version of Firefox according to their release history including codenames, version & releasing date.
The first version of the Firefox is called as the Phoenix. This new version also has a various versions. The first version of the Phoenix is the version0.1. It has also a codename called as Pescadero. The Mozilla Organisation released this version on September 23, 2002. This version also has a support of the Gecko version1.2.
The next version of the Phoenix is version0.2. This version has a code-name called as a Santa Cruze. The Mozilla Organization released this version on October 1, 2002. This version also has a support of the Gecko version1.2.
The third version of the Phoenix is the version 0.3, which was released by the Mozilla Corporation on October 14, 2002. This web version also has a support of the Gecko version 1.2.The code-name of this version is Lucia.
The fourth version of the Mozilla Firefox browser is different from the other versions, which has a support of the Gecko version 1.3. In addition, the code name of this version is the Oceano. This version was released by the Mozilla Organization on October19, 2002. The fifth version of the Phoenix is version 0.5, which has a codename called as Naples. This version was released by the Mozilla Organization on December7, 2002. This version has a support of the Gecko version 1.3.
After getting name for the first Firefox web browser as Phoenix, there was problems in the Mozilla Organization on licensing issues. Therefore, this first name was changed by the next name called as Mozilla Firebird. We can say that this was the second stage of Mozilla Organization.
So the first version of the Mozilla Firebird was the version 0.6 which was developed & released by the Mozilla Organization on May 17, 2003. This version also had a code name called Glendale, which had a support of the Gecko layout engine version1.5.
The second version of the Mozilla Firebird was the version 0.6.1 which was released by the Mozilla Organization on July28, 2003. This version did not have any code name. This version also got support of the Gecko engine layout version1.5.
The third version of the Mozilla Firebird was the version0.7, which had a support of the Gecko layout version 1.5. The codename of this version was the Indio, which was released by the Mozilla Organization on October 15, 2003. The last version of the Mozilla Firebird was the version 0.7.1. This version had a code name called as Three Kings. The releasing date of this version was October 26, 2003, which had a support of the Gecko version1.5.
Now again there was a change in the browser name of the Mozilla Organization. That new name was the Mozilla Firefox. This new browser also had various versions. The first version of the Mozilla Firefox was the version 0.8, which was released by the Mozilla Organization on February9, 2004. This version also had a codename called as Royal Oak having a support of the Gecko layout engine version1.6.
There was the large amount of release of the Mozilla Firefox web browser by the Mozilla Organization. In fact, by this name this browser got popularity in the web-browsing world.
