If I were to introduce you to a person who started walking and talking in the very first year of his existence, I am sure you would be very impressed. However, if I introduce you to a person who claims that he start walking and talking million within thirty six hours of being born, what will your reaction be? I am sure you would give a polite smile to that person and make a mental note never to talk to such crazy persons again.
Well I do know an entity that started walking and talking or the equivalent of walking and talking in the very few first hours of its existence. The entity that I am talking about is not a human being but the web browsing software application called Mozilla Firefox. When Mozilla Firefox version one point five was introduced, two million copies were downloaded in the first thirty six hours of its launch. If am to calculate the span of thirty six hours into days, that would be less than two days, in fact it works out to a mere one and a half days. Imagine two million users connecting to the net from all over the world and downloading two million copies of Mozilla Firefox version one point five.
Try as I might, I cannot imagine two million users wanting to download the same web browsing software application. In such a scenario, can anyone tell me why I should not claim that Mozilla Firefox is the most popular and most promising web browsing software application in the world?
Today, we live in a web browsing world where the most popular web browsing software application is the most popular web browsing software application due to the fact that it was bundled with a very popular operating system. In such a scenario, the fact that two million users took time out of their busy life to download Mozilla Firefox within the first thirty six hours of its launch speaks volumes of its popularity
