Mozilla Firefox giving the ‘searchers on the Internet’ what they want
The originally reason why the Internet was invented was to enable the transfer of data between various universities and defense laboratories in America. While the debate whether Internet was invented in Europe or America still rages, let us not be sidetracked by that issue. Coming back to my point, the primary reason why the Internet was created was to enable the transfer of information or transfer of knowledge.
The Internet was created to make it easier for people to share information, acquire knowledge and get education. Even today, a majority of the people who access the Internet are those who want information about something or the other. Of course there are people who access the Internet for entertainment, pleasure and other such purposes. However a significant proportion of the total number of person surfing the Internet are persons who are seeking to learn or acquire some information. One of the most common methods used by all who seek knowledge on the Internet is to make use of search engines.
Each one of us has his or her favorite search engine. However, it would be incorrect to presume that a single search engine can perform a comprehensive search of the entire Internet. No doubt search engines like Google and Yahoo are very good indeed. However it would be asking too much from any single search engine to guarantee an excellent and comprehensive search of each and every web site on the Internet. And somehow, the concept of search engines was never properly incorporated in web browsing software applications. True, Microsoft’s Internet Explorer did contain a search bar. However, the users of web browsing software applications needed the facility of using search engines from the web browsing software applications themselves. That is something which Mozilla Firefox offered to each and every user of the software application
