Mozilla Firefox and web browser compatibility- almost but not there yet!!
It was only today that I typed the address of the website of my high speed broadband Internet service provider in the address bar of the Mozilla Firefox window. This was the first time that I was viewing this website on my latest and updated Mozilla Firefox web browsing software application. However, I was in for a disappointment. The website refused to load and all I could see was a message that said-“Sorry, IE required”. It would not be incorrect to say that this message brought me back to earth.
For I had started presuming that Mozilla Firefox, due to its immense advantages, had become the most popular web browsing software application in the world and it was possible for me to view any and every website using this web browsing software application. However the truth is that I was not able to view the website off my high speed broadband Internet service provider clearly proves that my presumption was incorrect. As far as compatibility with the web sites is concerned, Mozilla Firefox has gone when no web browsing software application other than Microsoft's Internet Explorer has gone.
Earlier the websites and web hosting service providers did not find it necessary to make their web sites compatible with application other than Microsoft's Internet Explorer. There were brief periods when any upcoming web browsing software application would be included in that list.
However, no web browsing software application had ever managed to establish such a high level of popularity that the web sites and web hosting service providers were forced to alter their web sites to make it compatible with that web browsing software application on a global level. The only web browsing software application other than Microsoft's Internet Explorer that can stake claim for such an achievement is Mozilla Firefox. However, as the web site of my high speed broadband Internet service provider proves, Mozilla Firefox still has quite a long way to go
