Mozilla Firefox- all love to customize the computer to reflect one’s personality
Mozilla Firefox offers customization to an extent that was never seen in any other web browsing software application. Since web browsing software applications acted as a gateway to the Internet, it was never considered necessary to offer the facility of customization of the web browsing software application to its users.
The reasoning was that since people would be more interested in what the website is showing, it would hardly make a difference whether they have the ability to customize the toolbar, fonts, themes, color schemes, designs, icons and other aspects of the web browsing software application. Of course it is well known that such a line of reasoning was completely wrong. No matter how enjoyable the website maybe, it always rankles when you have to work with a toolbar that is not suitable for your purpose. It rankles even further when you find yourself unable to customize the toolbar to your advantage. Of course, the ability to customize the colors, designs, icons, themes and skins of software application has become some sort of a ritual.
It is considered as almost a fundamental right of each and every user of the computer that he or she should be in a position to customize the appearance of the screen to his or her convenience. Since the computer has become an extension of one's personality, people enjoy the fact that they can impose their personality onto the screen as well. For some reason, web browsing software applications were considered as an exception to this rule. The truth is that everybody likes to alter the skin, colors, themes and design of all software applications including web browsing software applications. Mozilla Firefox was one of the few web browsing software applications that boldly went ahead and offered enhanced customization abilities to its users. I believe the popularity of Mozilla Firefox proves that this bold gamble has paid off
