Here is some exciting news for all those who were eagerly waiting the release of the next version of Mozilla Firefox. The official word is that Mozilla Firefox version 2.0 will be released by fall. This means that the long wait for the next big thing to be released by Mozilla Foundation is beginning to end. Cheers to all the users of Mozilla Firefox!!!
The release of Mozilla Firefox version 2.0 assumes additional significance due to the Microsoft's Internet Explorer public statement of its intention and of destroying Mozilla Firefox and reclaiming its dominance in the web browsing software application market.
Now that David has successfully injured Goliath, Goliath is coming out with all guns booming to destroy David and his puny resistance. Microsoft’s Internet Explorer has declared that it will incorporate such features in its Internet Explorer version 7.0 that each and every user who had moved to Mozilla Firefox will return to the fold of Internet Explorer.
Despite the popularity of Mozilla Firefox with the common user, it would not be incorrect to say that the shifting of many corporate offices from Microsoft’s Internet Explorer to Mozilla Firefox was one thing that hurt Microsoft's Internet Explorer the most. Earlier, the corporations had avoided using a free web browsing applications due to fears of quality. However, once Mozilla Firefox proved its quality, the big corporations did not hesitate to shift over to Mozilla Firefox to take advantage of its features.
The fact that Mozilla Firefox did not cost anything to use shifted the vote in its favor. Stung by the criticisms and constant taunting, Microsoft’s Internet Explorer decided to give it the whole browser war a decisive blow by releasing its version 7. Which army succeeds… which army fails… which blow is decisive… whether Microsoft’s Internet Explorer will reclaim the lost respect or will lose out to Mozilla Firefox- only time will tell
