It run through a special program called a compiler that translates the source code into a form that the computer can understand. It is really difficult to vary the compiled version of most applications and almost impossible to see closely how the developer created different parts of the program. Commercial software manufacturers think this as a benefit that prevents other companies from copying their code and using it in a competing product. It provides them control over the quality and features found in a particular product.
It is licensed under three categories like the Mozilla Public License (MPL), GNU General Public License (GPL), and the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL). The permission of this three license is important for anyone to view, change the source code; various local applications have been built on i.e. code from Mozilla Firefox is used by Netscape, Flock and Songbird.
