First reason for popularity of Mozilla Firefox- resemblance with IE
As I said, there are many reasons behind the popularity of Mozilla Firefox. And as I said, the reasons are so many that it is very difficult to choose the answer with which one will begin the list of reasons behind the popularity of Mozilla Firefox. I am of the opinion that the smartest thing to do would be to start with a reason that is most fundamental.
The most fundamental reason why Mozilla Firefox is so popular is that it resembles Microsoft's Internet Explorer. I am aware that all the fans Mozilla Firefox will be very upset with this reason of mine. They will be at pains to point out that the reason behind the popularity of Mozilla Firefox has nothing to do with its similarity to Microsoft's Internet Explorer.
Some may even contend that there is no similarity between Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft’s Internet Explorer. However, when I refer to Microsoft Internet Explorer, I am not referring to the company or the web browsing software application alone. I am merely using the term Microsoft's Internet Explorer to refer to all previous web browsing software applications used by the surfers of Internet before.
Can I ask you something that will make you think?? Have you ever noticed why any and every media player installed in computers has the ‘Back’ button, ‘Start’ button, ‘Pause’ button, ‘Stop’ button and ‘forward’ button? Have you ever asked yourself why these buttons have been placed in this particular order? The answer to this question is very simple.
The reason why these buttons are used in every media player and the reason why these buttons are placed in this particular order only is that people are used to this sequence of buttons. You will find it more convenient to use a software application that resembles real life. Hence, the media players have incorporated the buttons and the sequence of the buttons so that it would be easier for the users to get used to the media player.
Since any person who has logged on to the Internet in the past ten years must have used Microsoft's Internet Explorer to do so, Mozilla Firefox resemblance to Microsoft's Internet explorer is definitely a reason behind its popularity
