Does Mozilla Firefox resemble Internet Explorer? Why is it a big issue?

I have received so many comments about my statement that one of the primary reasons behind the popularity of Mozilla Firefox is the resemblance of the web browsing software application to Microsoft's Internet Explorer that I thought I would be better if I explained matters to get my point across.

First and foremost, I wanted to contradict all those who claim that Mozilla Firefox does not resemble Microsoft's Internet Explorer at all. I find it difficult to believe that people would make such an outrageous statement in the first place. Why is it that all the toolbars of the web browsing software application placed in the upper side of the web browsing software application? Why is it that the space to view the website is below the rows of buttons and toolbars? From this simple description, is it not obvious that Microsoft's Internet Explorer was the inspiration behind this particular feature of Mozilla Firefox?

Let me iterate that never did I say that Mozilla Firefox has been copied from Microsoft's Internet Explorer. Had I said that, I am sure I would have deserved the criticism that I got. However, if I may draw attention to my statement, what I said was that Mozilla Firefox resembles Microsoft's Internet Explorer. Hence to settle the point once in for all, there is absolutely no way anybody can say that Mozilla Firefox does not resemble Internet Explorer at all.

Secondly, I had clearly stated that I had used the words Microsoft's Internet Explorer because of the sheer dominance of the web browsing software application in the web browsing market. When ninety percent of the surfers of the Internet used Microsoft's Internet Explorer to surf the Internet, does it make any difference whether I use the words ‘Microsoft's Internet Explorer’ or ‘all previous web browsing software applications’?
