One problem faced by all those who are very regular users of Mozilla Firefox is that they cannot instruct other computer to make Mozilla Firefox as their default web browser. It is not that Mozilla Firefox does not have the option of being set as the default web browser of the computer. The problem is that there are many web sites on the Internet that are designed to function only on Microsoft's Internet Explorer.

The reason for such favoritism is not far to find. Until Mozilla Firefox burst onto the scene, Microsoft's Internet Explorer was the most popular web browsing software application. Nine of ten persons who used the commuter and accessed the Internet would use Microsoft's Internet Explorer to surf the Internet. For this reason, webmasters found it easier cater to the maximum number of Internet surfers by customizing their website to function at optimum level with Microsoft's Internet Explorer.

Some webmasters took a step ahead and customized their sites in such a manner that it could be viewed through Microsoft's Internet Explorer only. The primary reason for designing the website in such a manner was that the website used scripts and other web related programs that were compatible with Microsoft’s Internet Explorer only

I once came across the web site where the person accessing the web site was required to enter his username and password to log into his account. Once the account was accessed, the web site could be navigated using the side panel to get the information that one wanted. To tell you the truth, I had visited web sites that were very similar to this particular website.

Still, the webmaster was of the opinion that the website could be viewed through Microsoft's Internet Explorer only. If the owners of the websites do not have the sense to understand that Mozilla Firefox has become a very popular web browsing software application, it does not make sense to use Mozilla Firefox as your default web browser
