At the end of it all, I will get Firefox if it works well irrespective of its looks
I contest the very notion that the way Mozilla Firefox looks is a factor when people are facing the dilemma- should I get Firefox or not?
I would like to compare the dilemma with the dilemma faced by all those who intend to purchase a car. Should I get a car that runs well or not?? The answer to this question is very simple indeed. Each and every person who wants to buy a car will want to buy a car that runs well. Now, let me ask- if I give you a choice between a car that looks well and a car that runs well, which one would you choose?? I can the strange look on your face.
OF COURSE!!! I will go in for a car that runs very well. I would love if I could lay my hands on a car that looks well and runs very well but if at all I have to make a choice, I will choose a car that runs well even if it does not look very well. If the car does not look well, people will laugh until they step into the car. If at all the car does not run well, people will laugh once they get the idea that the car looks great but is hopeless as a vehicle.
The same applies for web browsing software applications as well. If the web browser surfs the net very well, that is one web browser that I want. If the web browser surfs the net very well and is very cool looking, I would love that. However, if you ask me whether I will get Firefox that looks well or get Firefox that surfs well, I will choose a Firefox that surfs well.
At the end of the day, the whole concept of a good looking web browsing software application and the whole thing with people desiring to get Firefox because it looks cool is valid only if Firefox is a good web browsing software application. If it is not, then there is no use of having a good looking Firefox on your computer.
