How to make the Firefox automatically dial up
If you are connected to the internet with the help of a phone line that needs dialing before connecting then you can easily configure your machine to enable Firefox browser dial your connection whenever you try to set up a connection to the internet. If you want Firefox to dial up the connection automatically then you first have to first the auto-connect feature. Below are the instructions given below that tell how to enable auto-connect feature.
For Windows 2000/XP/Vista1] Select the start button that is at the left corner of your computer screen and then choose 'Control panel. If you are not able to see control panel entry then try to find settings menu. This menu contains a control panel item. Select the item and the control panel will open
2] If your screen doesn't display a list of icons then you have to click 'Switch to Classic mode” that is located at the left side of window. You have to double click on Internet options icon
3] In internet options window, you have to go to connections tab. The tab lists your entire dial up connection. In this window, you must select 'Dial wherever a network connection is not present, and then choose dial up connection that you want to be automatically dialed. You have then press set default.
4] Press OK button to close Internet options windows and you will return back to control panel window
5] In control panel window, you have to double click on administrative tools icon
6] Double click on services
7] In services window, you need to find the row that has name 'Remote access connection manager' and then double click on it.
8] In “startup type” box, you have to select automatic.
9] Click on OK button
10] Repeat same steps for Remote Access Auto Connection Manager and telephony services.
11] Close control panel and services windows. Now Firefox will always dial your connection automatically whenever you try to access Internet.
Using Firefox, you can block cookies. This is the reason why some websites cannot be opened in Firefox.
Cookies are disabled: Firefox can be configured to block cookies and on per-site basis
1] At the top of Firefox window, you have to click on Tools menu and then choose options.
2] Click on privacy icon
3] Ensure that 'Accept cookies from sites’ is check marked
4] Click on Exceptions...
5] Ensure that the website that you want to access is not listed. If the website is listed, then click on entry and then click on 'Remove site'.
If you have changed any settings, then try accessing the site again.
Unexpected Cookies: You can set your cookies in way that the website does not expect. This may be caused due to a bug in the website. You should clear your cookies for the website that you want to access.
1] At the top of Firefox window, you have to click on tools menu and then choose 'Options'.
2] Click on privacy icon
3] Click on Show cookies...
4] Click on entry for the website that you are trying to access. If there is no entry for that website then the website hasn't set any cookies
5] Click on remove cookies or cookie
Now your cookies are cleared. Try accessing website again.
