ive been searching for a while now on google and still cant get an answer. when ever i launch firefox it gives me a message that says, "firefox is already running but is not responding. to open a new window, you must first close the existing firefox process, or restart your system. But firefox isnt running any ideas on how to fix this annoying error?

Unfortunately, I've had to use Opera & Safari since neither firefox nor explorer are working. For FireFox many people say to delete the .lock file from your application data->FireFox folder or you can create another profile.

Can anyone explain why after reinstalling FireFox I still get the same error of "already running"? Is there something in the registry as well?
