What to do if site colors are not displayed correctly

Page style disabled: Inadvertently, you have set the page style as “no style”. To make sure that Firefox browser is set to page's default style do the following steps:

At the top of Firefox window, you have to click on view menu, select 'page style' and then click on 'basic page style'.

Websites are not permitted to make use of their own colors: Firefox has an option that allows users to override a web page's background and text color settings. To disable this option, do the following:

1] At the top of Firefox window, you have to click on 'Tools' menu and then choose 'Options'

2] Select content panel

3] Click on 'colors...' button

4] Ensure that the checkbox that is beside “Permit web pages to select their own colors, instead of my selections above is checked.

5] Click on OK button

6]Now that you have configured Firefox to permit web pages to select their colors, visit the web site again to check if the site looks correct

Windows Settings: There are settings in Windows that can modify the display of pages in Firefox browser.

High Contrast: Make sure that Windows isn't in high contrast mode.

1] If the browser is running, then close it from the menu that is at the top of Firefox window, you have to choose File option and then close menu item.

2] Open Windows control panel: For Windows Vista, you have to click on windows icon and then choose control panel. For Windows XP, you have to open Windows start menu and then select control panel.

3] Open Accessibility dialog: For Windows XP, you have to double click on 'Accessibility options'.

4] Click on display tab

5] Ensure that the checkbox that is beside 'Use high contrast' is not checked.

6] Press on OK button and start Firefox and verify if the colors are correct.

256 color mode:

1] If Firefox browser is running then close it: From the menu that is at the top of Firefox window, you have to select File and then exit menu item.

2] Right click on the icon that you use to start Firefox and then select properties. Properties dialog box opens

3] Click on compatibility tab

4] Ensure that the checkbox that is beside “Run in 256 colors” isn't checked

5] Press OK button. Start the browser and check if colors are coming properly

Blue text displayed red in color: Due to ATI Catalyst 7.12 video drivers, blue text appears in red color on Windows XP operating system. But there is absolutely no need to worry as there are few options for fixing the problem. You can do any one of the following:

1] Turn on the ClearType

2] Install 7.11 video drivers

3] Turn off the font smoothing.

For turning on cleartype, you have to do the following:

1] Right click on desktop and then choose “properties”.

2] Select Appearance tab and then press Effects... button.

3] Click on checkbox that is beside to words “Use following method to smooth edges of the screen fonts” and then choose “ClearType” from drop down field.

4] Finally, you have to close Effects dialog box by clicking the OK button and then click on Apply button for completing the process.

To change font smoothing settings:

1] Right click on desktop and then choose “properties”.

2] Select Appearance tab and then press Effects... button.

3] Click on checkbox “Use following method to smooth edges of the screen fonts”. This will enable font smoothing. Then choose “ClearType” from drop down field. Clear Type eliminate “jaggies” in italicized type.
