Reporting BUGS in Mozilla Firefox
firefox is one of the most amazing Web browsers in the world; Mozilla Corporation develops it. It is an award-winning browser for its high-speed performance and amazing features. It has features like good updated toolbar, with over thousands of add-ons to choose form. The firefox browser is very fast and efficient and it very user-friendly. The firefox Browser is very safe and secure to use. Because of its features, most of the government agencies and most of the good organizations prefer firefox to the other web-browsers.
Reporting of bugs: The popularity of the firefox is increasing day by day, this leads to reporting of more bug reports. The firefox uses Bugzilla database to trace the bugs reported. Users have the provision of filing bugs in the firefox development department and the development looks into it and provides the necessary results for the fixing of bugs.
Instructions before filing a bug report: The user is expected to follow four steps before the filing of any kind of bug report.
1). The user should use Firefox’s latest mighty built with should have a new profile. The user should see that it is always installed in an empty folder. The user should create a firefox profile and then he should start the firefox. After creating a new profile, the user should see for if the bud is still there. If there is unable to find that bug in that case two possibilities arise either the bud has got fixed or viewing of the depends on something loaded in the profile which is normally of regular use to the user.
if the user is confused if the bug is removed or not in that case the users should perform a test, the user should try to test the bug in the newly created profile (with the same built in which the bud was noticed by the user). If still the bug is un- noticed then the user should note that the bug has been fixed, and there is no need for the user to file any report.
2). There users should see that of which product the bud is. Mozilla’s toolkit is used to build firefox, so there is a possibility of unknown bugs to firefox. User interface is the main difference between mozilla and Firefox means if there is a bug found in the toolbar the firefox should fix that, as it the problem of Mozilla firefox. If the user is facing a problem with the autocomplete then there mostly be problem with the toolkit. If still a user is unsure of the bug, of which product it belongs to, in that case the user should search the product and then file a bug accordingly.
3). The user should go through the list of bugs filed and see that the bug filed is not repeated. If the bug the user filed is already then the bud may be repeated. Therefore, the user should always take care that the bug filed is not repeated.
4). After going through the three steps mentioned above after reading them the user should read the Bug Writing Guidelines and then file the bud. After going through all the instructions after that only the user should file a bug.
