Mozilla Firefox is one of the most popular Web browsers in use. Firefox can be downloaded easily from its official website. Currently the running version of Firefox is 3.0. Since Firefox is running on an open source platform, it can be modified, tweaked to your specification.
You can also use the extensions or add-ons to modify Firefox so that it meets your requirements. For instance, you can install an add-on that blocks ads on websites. The latest version of Firefox browser is that it is loaded with new features. Many issues in Firefox 2 that were giving you a headache are now fixed in Firefox 3. But it is observed that Firefox 3 doesn't close properly. While Firefox closes physically, it doesn't close memory wise. That means, in the background it is open, as a result it still utilizes your system memory. That is why, your pc might even slow down. You may have to restart your computer
Restarting your pc will close Firefox; however this is not the solution to the problem. If you want to know whether you are really having a problem with Firefox browser closing down improperly then again open it right way. If a dialog box pop ups saying that Firefox is running and you need to close it before opening for another session then it means, it is still running and consuming your valuable system memory.
Now if you want to close Firefox you need to press Alt + Control + Delete and Windows task manager will open. There is one more method to open the Windows task manager. Navigate to Firefox entry in the Processes and then terminate it. Once it is terminated, you will always be able to open the browser again. This will definitely eliminate any Firefox problems you are having but you may have to repeat this procedure until you get the next update.
Always make sure that Firefox closes properly every time you use the software. Otherwise, complications may develop in your user profile embedded in Firefox. That means when you open the browser the next time, you may not be able to see your bookmarks and any other preferences that are opened with it. In case you have updated your Firefox recently and are facing problems while closing it then follow the above steps to rectify it.
