Web browsing role of View menu in Mozilla Firefox and IE
Design of the View menu in Firefox: the actual design of the View menu in both Firefox and IE is separated into four parts. In Firefox, three commands like toolbar, status bar and side bar are incorporated in the first part. The second part consists of commands like Stop and Reload containing the shortcuts such as Esc and Ctrl + R respectively.
The third part of the View menu contains the commands like Text size, Page style and Character encoding. Lastly, the fourth part of the View menu is incorporated with commands like Page source and Full screen having shortcuts like Ctrl + U and functional key like F11 respectively.
IE with View menu Design: the View menu of IE also distributed with four parts and each part contains several commands with its desirable shortcuts. The first part of the View menu in Internet Explorer consists of Toolbar, Status bar and Explorer bar.
The second part of the View menu is incorporated with command like Go to, Stop and Refresh. Among them, the Stop command has a shortcut like Esc and Refresh with functional key F5. The third part of the View menu contains two commands like Text size and Encoding. The concluding part of the View in IE consists of commands like Source, Privacy report and Full screens which available with functional key F11.
Additional categories of commands in View menu: In the Mozilla Firefox, the user is facilitated with three categories of toolbars such as navigation toolbar, bookmarks toolbar and customize toolbar. On contrary, the View menu in IE is incorporated with Standard buttons, address bar, links, adobe PDF. Also by using the toolbar option, the user can lock some kind of toolbars.
In the Mozilla Firefox, by utilizing the additional keyboard shortcuts for options like Bookmarks and History, the Firefox user can view it in the sidebar of the Firefox window. These options are incorporated with shortcuts like Ctrl + B for bookmarks and Ctrl + H for History option.
On contrary, the bookmarks option is not present in the version 6.0 of IE and the option like History is located as the additional category of the Explorer bar. Therefore, the Firefox users can say that in spite of Explorer bar, they utilize the Side bar in Mozilla Firefox.
In the second part of both the Firefox and Internet Explorer, the uses can see different commands for same functions. For instance, the Firefox users can activate Reload function in spite of Refresh command. Both commands are incorporated with different keyboard shortcuts. In Firefox, the Reload command has keyboard shortcut like Ctrl + R and in IE, it is available with F5 functional key.
The third part of the Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer mainly deals with size, style and encoding of the web pages. By activating the function like Text size, the Mozilla Firefox user can increase or decrease the size of the word format of such web page of Firefox. It is also incorporated with shortcut keys like Ctrl++ for increase and Ctrl +- for decrease.
But in Internet Explorer, the text size is categorized in various categories like largest, larger, medium, smaller and smallest. For activating these page sizes, there is no activation of shortcut keys in IE. In addition, the function like Page Style is only present in the Mozilla Firefox. Such page style is incorporated with only one basic style category for the Firefox web page.
