Viewing and Downloading images through Firefox

First steps: You can diagnose problems with common image formats and they can be resolved by simply running a 'test'.

1] You have to run this test

2] Check the page carefully and find out if any images are not loading. Make suggested fix in your computing environment.

3] For executing the test again when test page is shown on the computer screen, you need to press and hold the Shift key and then press 'reload' in Firefox toolbar.

2. Clear the Firefox cache

1] Click on Edit menu that is at the top of Firefox window and then select preferences.

2] In preferences window, you should select Advanced panel

3] Under Network tab, you need to click on clear window

3. Delete all cookies from your Firefox browser. Cookies are files that are stored by websites on your computer. They enhance your experience with website when you access it again. Cookies can change behavior of websites so that you won't be able to see current image.

1] In preferences window, select privacy panel

2] Click on show cookies

3] In cookies dialog, you should click on remove all cookies and then click the close button

4] All cookies are deleted from Firefox

4. In case you are making use of ad-blocking software that include Ad block or any other security software, you need to disable it and find out if it is causing problem

5. Verify and make sure that your Firefox is not configured to block images from the specific website

1] At the top of Firefox window there is an Edit menu, click on it and select preferences

2] Select control panel.

3] Click on 'load images automatically' and the 'exceptions' button

4] Exceptions-Images” window opens. If the website in which you are experiencing this problem appears in list of websites then select the site and click on remove site

5] Click on the close button

6] Click the 'OK' button.

6. Advanced First steps

1] Firefox preference network.http.pipelining has been designed for improving page loading time. There are some websites that don't support pipelining; hence images in such websites are not being transferred. In case this preference is enabled, you should disable it.

1] In Firefox location bar, you should type about:config and then press the Enter button

2] In filter text box, type pipelining

3] Right click on each displayed preferences and then choose Reset.

7] Firefox can be configured to block downloads from certain websites. Make sure that the site from which you will be downloading is not blocked by your Firefox browser

1. First verify Firefox preferences

1] In Firefox location bar, you should type about:config and then press enter.

2] In filter text box, type permissions.default.image.

3] If the value of permissions.default.image isn't set to 1, you need to right click and then select the Reset option.

Sometimes the images cannot be displayed because they contain errors. This message is displayed by the Firefox browser if it unable to download the images
