Tab and current preferences in Firefox
Warn me when I am opening multiple tabs as it might slow down the Firefox browser: If you open many tabs at once then Firefox will definitely ask you just to conform your option. This will prevent you from slowing down your computer system while web pages are loading. When you uncheck these preferences, it will disable this warning
Always display the tool bar: If you are viewing 1 web page in Firefox window then the tab bar isn't displayed. Check this preference, if you want the tool bar to be always displayed, including when Firefox window does contain only 1 page
When I open link in new tab, switch to it immediately: When you hold down Ctrl while you are clicking with left mouse button or middle click on web link then the page opens in new tab. That page won't be displayed and will automatically load in background tab. You can use this preference to load and then display the page in new foreground tab instead.
Content preferences:
Block pop up windows: Firefox browser, by default blocks any annoying pop up windows on the websites. If you can uncheck this preference, it will disable the pop-up blocking. Some websites make good use of the pop up windows. That is why, you should allow these websites to open the pop ups anyway. In order to do this, you have to click on 'Exceptions', enter site name and then click on 'Allow'. For removing any website from the list, you have to choose it and then you have to click on 'Remove site'. If you want to clear the list, you will have to click on 'Remove All Sites'.
Load the images automatically: By default, the browser displays images that are contained in web pages. You can uncheck this preference if you don't want to view images in these web pages. If you don't disable loading images automatically then the Exceptions button will allow you to select websites from where images won't automatically load. Exceptions button allows you to specify sites that you want to load. It doesn't matter whether you have this preference or not. In exceptions list, you have to enter the site name or URL from which you wish to block or allow images and then click 'Allow' to enable the images. Click on block button if you want to block images.
Enable JavaScript: JavaScript is nothing but a scripting language that is used for making web pages interactive. However, it will also make certain annoying behavior easier to perform. If you want to disable JavaScript, then you should uncheck this preference. However, note that some websites may not work properly if you disable JavaScript. For more control over what the JavaScript can do and cannot do, you should click on Advanced... button.
Advanced JavaScript settings: Resize or move existing windows: You can uncheck this preference in order to disable resizing and moving windows using scripts.
Lower or raise windows: You can uncheck this preference to ensure that scripts do not lower (send to back) or rise (bring to front) windows.
Replace or disable context menus: To prevent the web pages from changing or disabling the Firefox context menu, you will have to uncheck this preference.
Hide Status Bar: If you want that status bar should also be shown in pop-up, windows then uncheck the preference.
Change the status bar text: If you want to disable the changes to the status bar text that include scrolling text messages or if you don't want the link address to be displayed when the mouse is over the link then uncheck this preference.
