Phoenix as First Released Browser from Mozilla
The first type of the Firefox versions is the old release versions, which is completely stopped from support and research. The second type is the old release versions, which are still supported by the Mozilla Organization. The third type of the Firefox version is the current released version, which is just released by the Mozilla Organization. The fourth type of the Firefox web browser is the test release version, which are being planned to release in the future and are tested. The final and fifth type is the future release versions of Mozilla Firefox.
The web browser like Mozilla Firefox is renamed with various browser names such as Phoenix, Mozilla firebird, the current name Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Firefox 2, Mozilla Firefox3 and Mozilla Firefox 4. These browser names are given to Mozilla Firefox according to its Gecko layout engine support, its various versions, its releasing dates and their significant changes.
Mozilla Firefox, which is the award winning, speedy, secure and user-friendly web browser, has a history of several significant browser names.
Previously, the Firefox web browser was renowned for its first browser name called as Phoenix. There were five versions of this Phoenix web browser, which was released by the Mozilla Organization. This Phoenix had a support of Gecko layout version having version 1.2 and 1.3.
The first version of the Phoenix i.e. Phoenix 0.1 was released by the Mozilla Organization on 23rd September 2002. The codename of this version was Pescadero. It was incorporated with significant web browsing modifications like customizing toolbar features, quicksearch options and it was the first release of Phoenix browser. This first release version of Phoenix had a support of Gecko version 1.2.
The second version of the Phoenix i.e. Phoenix 0.2 was released by the Mozilla Organization on 1st October 2002. The codename of this version was Santa Cruz. It was incorporated with significant web browsing modifications like sidebar and extension management. This version also had an identical Gecko layout support of version 1.2.
The third version of the Phoenix i.e. Phoenix 0.3 was released by the Mozilla Organization on 14th October 2002. The codename of this version was Lucia. This was also integrated with significant web browsing modifications like pop-up blocking, image blocking, whitelist, and tabbed browsing. This version also had an identical Gecko layout support of version 1.2.
The fourth version of the Phoenix i.e. Phoenix 0.4 was released by the Mozilla Organization on 19th October 2002. The codename of this version was Oceano. This was incorporated with significant web browsing modifications like pop-up blocking enhancements, add-ons like themes, and toolbar customization. However, this version also had an identical Gecko layout support of version 1.3.
The Mozilla Organization released the fifth version of the Phoenix i.e. Phoenix 0.5 on 7th December 2002. The codename of this version was Naples. This version was inbuilt significant web browsing functions like inclusion of multiple kinds of homepages, enhancements in the sidebar and accessibility and toolbar like History. This version also had an identical Gecko layout support of version 1.3.
After releasing these 5 versions of Phoenix, the Mozilla Organization decided to rename the Phoenix by Mozilla Firebird. This new browser name of Mozilla Firefox had only two version having support of Gecko layout engine version 1.5.
The first version of this Mozilla Firebird was firebird 0.6, which had a codename called as Glendale. This version was released by the Mozilla Organization on 17th May 2003. In this version, Mozilla introduced inbuilt, suitable web browsing modifications such as Qute, which was the latest default theme, enhancement in the bookmarks and privacy, smooth kind of scrolling and resize the image automatically.
