Mozilla Firefox Has Only One Goal in Mind - To Improve Web Surfing Experience of All

One of the biggest advantages that the Firefox web browser software application offers over all other web browsers is that it has no hidden agenda of its own, has no product to promote, no service to encourage, no profit to earn and certainly no intention to fool the surfers of the World Wide Web about what it really wishes to contribute to the web. It is evident from the fact that the Firefox web browser rarely, if ever, places restrictions on the desires and expectations of World Wide Web surfers.

The birth of the Firefox web browser was the result of the intense desire to bring the dominance of Internet Explorer on the World Wide Web to an end. The dominance had begun to stifle the World Wide Web and was becoming a bad thing for surfers of the web. The Internet Explorer did all that it could to retain its dominance. Even today, there are many changes being made to Internet Explorer and the Firefox web browser which cannot be called ‘fair’. That is the reason why the competition has been described as the browser war. Considering all this, one would not really blame Mozilla Firefox for simply ignoring Internet Explorer and all the features that it offers.

However, you can see that the developers of the Firefox web browser have not taken a confrontational approach. The best example of this is that the Firefox web browser has permitted surfers of the web to come up with an extension called the IE tab. There are many web sites on the web that can be viewed properly on the Internet Explorer web browser only. To enable surfers to continue operating within the Firefox web browser, one can install IE tab which will then convert the tab into a miniaturized version of the Internet Explorer web browser. One certainly cannot see Internet Explorer offering a Firefox tab to all its surfers.

This approach of Firefox web browser is better suited to cater to the changing tastes and preferences of the surfers of the World Wide Web. When the Web became popular, the idea of logging onto the web to check e-mail simply did not exist. People use Email applications just as they use word processing and web browsing applications. Mails had to be downloaded to the hard disk before they could be read. Mails could be checked from one computer only. MS Outlook was the most popular software application for checking mails.

Considering the fact that both software applications are offered by the same company, Internet Explorer offered an ability to link the web browser to the mail application automatically. This feature became a part of all web browser software applications. When you find a contact address or e-mail on a page and click on the same, your mail application client will automatically open and you can start typing the mail. However, times have changed. Today, people prefer using Gmail and other online mail service providers as opposed to traditional mail application. Has Internet Explorer taken this change into consideration? The answer is – No.

Has the Firefox web browser taken this change into consideration? The answer is - Yes! You can now instruct the web browser to open all ‘mail to’ links in your favorite personal online mail service provider. When you click on the link, Gmail or Yahoo mail or other such mail, service providers shall be opened in a new tab. This small change indicates a huge gap in the mindset of the developers of different web browsers. Which web browser do you want to rely on?
