Mozilla Firefox – want to make your browser personal?
Firefox has a feature by which you can make your browser personal by adding different types of skins available. We can give a personalize look to our browser. We can dress up the way we want, an easy to use themes can be used to make your browser personalize. A persona in the Firefox is the feature in the browser that allows the user to select a simple to use themes called as personas, they are more easy to use than the normal themes available in the firefox. Previous to the version 3.6 it was used as built in tool. It was first created in the year 2007 with few designs from the artists. They are free to use. You can change the persona of your browser everyday, as many times you want to change. It won’t cost you a single penny.
Personas are basic, easier to create and install than the normal themes available in firefox. But they are limited to status bar and browser. The big problem with firefox is that we cannot alter the shape as well as appearances of the toolbar items and the tabs, in the way we can alter them in normal themes that we use in firefox browser. We need to restart the browser, if we want to install a normal theme and it is more complicated to install. However when it comes to personas, it is comparatively simple to install as well as activate personas. What you need is to click on it. Within 60 seconds it will get installed on the browser. The best part of personas is that we can even undo the persona we had selected. You can see the preview and then install that persona on your browser.
There are over 35,000 personas that are at present accessible in Firefox. Furthermore it is possible to them easily. There are different categories for this. The categories in which they are present are as follows. Abstract, fashion, films and television, sports, music, holidays, nature, scenery and many more categories are available. In these categories various options are present. We just need to click it and then it get installed and activated. Normal themes that are available in firefox are very few compared to the personas available. Less than thousand themes are available. The personas can be created more efficiently for our use.
Due to this, the main problem firefox browser faces is the speed and usability of firefox problem. Due to which Firefox has to suffer great criticism. The above mentioned personas operate with all sorts of computer system which has Firefox installed in it. But to add personas to your browser you should have administrative rights. Personas are open source code; you can change the code as you want to view it. We can create our persona and that design can be uploaded to the persona website. Even after creation if you want to edit or delete that piece of art work, it is possible. The artwork that was created by you is always your artwork. But we cannot put in the artwork of persona to the public gallery.
The standard personas are made up of two things, the header and footer. The header image will be displayed on the top of the browser window .i.e. behind the toolbar and the tab strips while the footer image will be displayed on the lower part of the browser window .i.e. behind the status and find bars. The header image should be 200 pixels tall whereas the footer image should be 100 pixels tall and the wideness of both the images should be 300 pixels. It is very impressive to use personas in the Firefox.
