Just check out the long list of common keyboard shortcuts in Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer.
How else can one explain the fact that Mozilla Firefox has offered a large number of keyboard shortcuts that is exactly the same as it is in Microsoft’s Internet Explorer? If Mozilla Firefox wanted, it could have easily created its own set of keyboard shortcuts. In fact, I feel that creating its own set of keyboard shortcuts would not have lessened the mad rush of people who downloaded Mozilla Firefox and switched over to Mozilla Firefox. Why???!! For the simple reason that Mozilla Firefox is that good!!!
Mozilla Firefox realized that a large number of people will be switching to Mozilla Firefox once they recognize the immense advantages it offers. Further, it realized that a large proportion of web browser users who switch to Mozilla Firefox would have used Microsoft’s Internet Explorer in the past. Taking advantage of this, Mozilla Firefox ensured that the users of Microsoft’s Internet Explorer were not all at sea when they switched over to Mozilla Firefox.
For users of a web browser starved of personal attention, the knowledge that here was a web browser that considered the convenience and comfort of the user of the web browser as supreme did wonders to the popularity of Mozilla Firefox. If I were to make list of all keyboard shortcuts that are common in Microsoft’s Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox, my list would look like what is given below.
