JavaScript in Firefox

If we observe JavaScript becomes the usual programming language to design your websites. It is generally used for adding to features like sounds, videos, WebPages and other features such as menus, etc. Firefox has JavaScript enabled by default and therefore, you do not require installing it by hand.

One problem is there with JavaScript. It can simultaneously do such things that many users do not want. Even though the settings of JavaScript in Firefox are configured to make your web use more protected, you are free to regulate these settings according to your preferences.

Enabling or disabling JavaScript is very easy and simple. Firefox provides you the capability of choosing whether you allow the JavaScript in web pages to execute or not. The process for doing so is given below:

a) Choose the tools menu from the toolbar situated on top of the Firefox window.

b) When the options window pops up choose the control panel.

c) Then you can choose the option to enable JavaScript if, you want to allow it to execute on your computer. If you do not want to allow it execute, deselect this option.

d) When you have enabled or disabled the JavaScript according to your preferences you can click on the advanced button to apply the changes you made.

e) Then click Ok which will close the window.

As mentioned above you can also alter the advanced settings for JavaScript.

When the window for advanced JavaScript settings opens, you can do the following things.

Resize or move existing windows: In order to prevent JavaScript to change position or size of your windows, deselect this option.

Lower or Raise windows: You can choose this option if you want websites to place windows on or below your existing windows.

Replace or Disable context menu: With this option you can choose whether to enable or disable context menu through JavaScript. A context menu is the menu, which appears whenever you right click on any item. If you want to prevent websites from discontinuing context menus, just deselect this option.

Hide the Status bar: As you may know that, the status bar shows the location and destination location of hyperlinks. It is situated at the bottom of the Firefox window. If you want to hide this status bar, you can do so through JavaScript. This has some advantages as well as some disadvantages. If you do this, you will not be able to identify the URL of pop up windows. If order to prevent the status bar from hiding, deselect this option.

Changing the status bar text: The status bar is a very important part of the Firefox window. However, by default it is kept small so as to provide maximum viewable area. Some people find it difficult to understand the location that the statuses bar shows because the fonts are too small for them. For such people, Firefox provides you the facility to change the status bar text. If you want to disable the overwriting on the status bar, deselect this option.

By using Firefox, you can even clear private data manually. When you use Firefox, it immediately store data like cookies and browsing history. Such data is accessible for other users using same computer so, if you do not wish anybody to view your private data then you can clear it. It is very simple to do this. Anytime you can do this. Some kind of private data is cleared automatically by Firefox.

If we observe, all Internet browser always store private data and so does Firefox. The private data that Firefox stores include browsing history. This is the data about WebPages that you have visited. It also stores download history. This includes a list of some files that you have recently downloaded using Firefox.
