Clearing private data manually
Whenever you use Firefox, it stores some data like your browsing history, cookies, etc. you can also choose to save usernames and passwords for different accounts like an email account, etc. This is done in order to make your internet using experience more comfortable.
Such data is accessible to others using the same computer and therefore if you do not want anybody to view your private data, you should clear it. Doing this is very easy and quick. You can do this anytime you want. It is a good practice to clear your private data before you leave the computer. Some part of private data is cleared by Firefox automatically.
Almost all internet browsers store some private data about users and so does Firefox. The private data, that Firefox stores is as follows.
Browsing history: - This is the data about the WebPages, which you have visited. Depending upon the settings that you have set, the data for several days may be stored by Firefox.
Download history: - This contains a list of files that you have downloaded using Firefox.
Saved form and Search History: - It contains sentences and phrases, which you enter when you search anything on web or when you fill online forms.
Cache: - This contains the temporary internet files like online media and WebPages, which you download from internet.
Cookies: - This contains files that websites create when you visit them. These files contain the information about your computer like your preferences when you visit these sites, etc. The websites on which you see a checkbox saying “remember this”, create cookies.
Offline Website Data: - This contains the data that websites store on your computer so that it can be used even if you are disconnected from the internet.
Saved passwords: - This contains usernames and passwords for online accounts. They are stored only if you choose Firefox to remember them.
Authenticated Sessions: - This is the data about secured websites, which you sign in through the password manager.
Clearing your data Manually As mentioned above clearing your data is very easy with Firefox. Moreover, with Firefox you also have the freedom to clear only some type of private data among the types mentioned above. You can clear your private data as given below.
a)Go to the tools button from the toolbar and then choose the option to clear your private data. b)When you do this the windows named clear private data will pop up. In this window, you will see the different types of private data mentioned above along with a checkbox for each of them. You can check the checkbox for the type, which you want to clear. The types of private data that you do not want to clear should be left unchecked. c)When you have marked the types of private data that you want to clear, click the button for clearing the private data.This is all that you need to do. The private data will be cleared. You can close the window. If you want to cancel clearing, the private data click cancel button. JavaScript has become the standard programming language for designing websites. It is widely used for adding to WebPages, features like sounds, videos, and interactive features like menus, etc. Firefox has JavaScript enabled by default and therefore you do not need to install it manually.
However, there is one problem with JavaScript. It can, at times, do such things that the users do not want. Though the settings for JavaScript in Firefox are configured to make your web use more secure, you are free to adjust these settings according to your own preferences.
Enabling or disabling JavaScript is very simple. Firefox provides you the ability to choose whether you want allow the JavaScript in web pages to execute or not. The procedure for doing so is as follows.
