Categorization of keyboard shortcuts in Firefox depends on support of OS
We can view the collection of the of most familiar keyboard shortcuts in the Mozilla Firefox web browser and these shortcuts are alike to the Internet Explorer and Opera. These shortcuts are categorized according to support of different operating systems like Windows, Linux and Mac OS X. Therefore, we can find some keyboard shortcuts either in first or second operating system. Sometimes, such shortcuts are found in all three operating systems.
In Windows operating system, the shortcut for the command like Add Bookmark is Ctrl+D. This shortcut is same in Internet Explorer. However, in Opera, the shortcut key is Ctrl+T, which is different from Firefox and IE.
For operating system like Linux, the shortcut for Add Bookmark command is same like in Windows for all three-web browsers like Firefox, Internet Explorer and Opera.
However, in operating system like Mac OS X, the shortcut key for command like Add Bookmark is Cmd+D that is same in all three operating system.
For operating system like Windows, the Back command has a shortcut such as Backspace or Alt+< - for Mozilla Firefox. The shortcut in Internet Explorer for this command is same like in Mozilla Firefox. However, in Opera, there are four shortcuts for this Back command. These four options are Backspace or Alt/Option+<- or Ctrl/Cmd+<- or Z.
However, in operating system like Linux, the keyboard shortcuts get varied. For Back command, we can see three shortcuts in Firefox like Backspace or Alt+< - or Ctrl/Cmd+ [. In Internet Explorer, two shortcuts are Backspace or Alt/Option+<- and in Opera, we can see the four shortcuts likewise in Windows. These four shortcuts are Backspace or Alt/Option+<- or Ctrl/Cmd+<- or Z.
For a command like Bookmarks in Mozilla Firefox having a support of Windows, the shortcut keys are Ctrl+B or Ctrl+I. in Internet Explorer, only one command Ctrl+I is present. However, in Opera, there are three commands exist. These three commands are F4 or Ctrl/Cmd+Alt/Option+B or Ctrl/Cmd+1. For the same command, Bookmark having support of Linux, the shortcut Ctrl+B exist in Mozilla Firefox. In Internet Explorer comparatively only one shortcut such as Ctrl+I is functioning. In Opera, three shortcuts like F4 or Ctrl/Cmd+Alt/Option+B or Ctrl/Cmd+1 is existing.
For operating system like Mac OS X, the web browser like Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer have only shortcut for Bookmark command is Cmd +B for Firefox and Cmd+I for IE. The Opera web browser possesses three shortcuts like F4 or Ctrl/Cmd+Alt/Option+B or Ctrl/Cmd+1.
There are some unusual commands with shortcuts, which only exist in the Mozilla Firefox. One of theses commands is Caret Browsing, which only exists in mozilla Firefox. The shortcut of this command is F7 for Firefox. This shortcut is same for all three operating systems. This feature does not exist in the Internet Explorer and Opera.
For all the three operating systems like Windows, Linux and Mac OS X, the unusual commands like Complete .net Address and Complete .org Address are existed in the Mozilla Firefox. These commands are available with keyboard shortcuts, which are Shift+Enter/Return and Cmd+Shift+Enter/Return respectively. These command features are not available in Internet Explorer and Opera.
The regular editing commands like Copy, Cut and Delete are run successfully on all three operating systems in Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer and Opera with keyboard shortcuts like Ctrl+C for Copy, Ctrl+X for Cut and Ctrl+P for paste.
