Toolbars and bookmarks buttons do not work after upgrading
If you have installed Norton 360: A component that is installed with your Norton 360 may be responsible for causing problems with history and bookmarks after you update or install to Firefox. These issues will occur usually after restarting Firefox browser. Symptoms include:
Bookmarks not saving
Bookmarks disappearing
Toolbar buttons that include Forward and Back not working
History not saving
All these above symptoms are caused if Firefox is not able to completely exit with Norton 360 component enabled. In case you are facing these problems, you will have to check and if necessary remove Firefox extensions, which are not compatible with Norton 360. You can also check for and then delete component from your machine.
Update Norton 360: Symantec has released recently a patch for Norton that will address this problem for some users. Now update Norton 360 by using the steps given below:
1] Start Norton 360
2] Now click on tasks or tasks and settings
3] Click on check for updates
4] Click on close button when live update completes installing updates
5] Run live update once again until you actually see message “no more updates are available
6] You may have to restart your machine to finish certain updates
Check for any incompatible extensions
1] From menu that is at the top of Firefox window, you need to click on Tools options and then choose Add-ons. Add-ons window will appear.
2] In add-ons window, you have to select Extensions panel to view your installed extensions
3] Check for extensions known to cause problem when they are installed with Norton 360. These include Piclens, freecorder, FoxyTunes, Google Toolbar, and Skype extension.
4] Disable each and every extension that you have from list above
For disabling the extension do the following:
1] Click on the name of that extension to disable
2] To disable this extension, you have to click on disable button.
Repeat the steps given below for each extension that is causing problem.
5] After you have disabled the extension, you have to close Firefox window. Click on file menu and then choose exit.
6] Right click on any empty spot in Windows task bar and then choose Task manager. An alternative way is to press Ctrl + Shift + Esc
7] Select processes tab
8] Select firefox.exe entry in processes list and then press End process. If there is no “firefox.exe” entry then you can skip this step.
9] Start Firefox browser normally
10] Close Firefox browser again. Click on file menu and then choose exit
11] Start Firefox browser again
If toolbar and bookmarks buttons are now working properly then you are finished. In case you are still facing the above symptoms or you require any of the incompatible extension, then you need to follow the instructions given below to remove Norton component from the browser
Remove Norton 360 component from the browser (Firefox)
If disabling the extension does not work or you wish to use extensions that aren't compatible with Norton 360 then you must remove component from the system.
1] From the file menu that is at the top of window, you have to click on file menu and then choose exit.

7] Select processes tab
8] Select firefox.exe entry in processes list and then press End process. If there is no “firefox.exe” entry then you can skip this step.
9] Open up windows explorer or my computer
4] Go to components folder and then delete file coFFpgln.dll from the folder
5] Open Firefox and check whether toolbar and bookmark buttons are properly working or not.
