Page info window in Firefox
Page info window can be accessed in two ways:
1] Right click anywhere on the page and then choose 'View page info item'.
2] Choose tools> page info
Address: Displays URL of the web page that you are visiting.
Type: Displays content type of the web page that you have visited
Render mode: It displays whether the web page conforms to the web coding standards
Encoding: It displays what type of character coding the web page uses. You can change the character encoding from view menu.
Size: It displays size of web page in kilobytes.
Modified: Displays time and date of the web page that was last changed.
Metadata: This field displays “meta” tags that are located in page's source code. These include specifications on character encoding, file type, keywords, author and more.
Security information for this web page: It displays general information such as whether connection is encrypted or whether the websites uses certificates for validating its identity. To get more information, you have to click on more buttons that will take you to 'page info window security panel.
Media: The media panel will display URL and the type of images, embedded content, and images that loads with the web page. If you want to know more about it, you have to click on it. You will get information such as,
Location: URL of specified item
Type: File type of specified item
Size: Size in kilobytes of specified item
Dimensions: Size of item on screen in pixels
Associated Text: It gives information about the “alternate” text that is displayed if the image is not loaded. You can choose any item to save it on your hard drive by simply clicking 'save as ' button.
Block images from the domain: When you check this option, it will prevent web pages that are specified under the domain from loading the images automatically.
Feeds: The feeds panel displays the URL and the type of web feeds associated with the web page. For subscribing a listed feed, you have to click on it and then 'Subscribe' button.
Permissions: Permissions window allows you to override options that are listed after the permissions for. Uncheck 'use default' box for specifying whether the page is blocked or allowed by doing indicated action.
Load Images: Specifies whether the domain that is listed can load images automatically.
Open pop up Windows: Specifies whether listed domain can launch pop ups.
Set Cookies: Specifies whether listed domain can set cookies.
Install Themes or Extensions: Specifies whether listed domain has the permission to launch the theme or extension installation dialog box.
Website: It lists domain of that page
Owner: Displays site's owner, if the web page's identity can be easily verified.
Verified by: It displays the name of agency that has issued security certificate the website uses. You have to click on view certificate to see that certificate
Privacy and History: Have I visited this site before today: It displays if you have visited the website before today. You will also come to know how many times you have visited the site.
Is this site storing cookies on my machine: It displays whether the website is storing cookies. You have to click on 'view cookies' in order to view cookies.
Have I saved passwords for this site: It displays whether you have saved the login information for the website. If 'view saved passwords' button is clicked, you can see the password that you saved for the website.
Technical details: This section displays whether connection is encrypted to secure privacy. It also displays what strength or type of encryption was used.
