When the developers of the Microsoft’s Internet Explorer web browsing software application announced that they were speeding up the process of development of Internet Explorer version 7.0, the supporters of the web browsing software application were ecstatic.

They repeatedly indicated that the release of Internet Explorer version 7.0 would be the end of the popularity of the Firefox web browsing software application. They predicted doom for the Firefox web browser and they predicted that the Firefox web browsing software application would not survive the onslaught of Internet Explorer version 7.0.

Further, the release of Internet Explorer version 7.0 was accompanied by the release of Windows Vista operating system. They release of the two titans of the Microsoft Corporation at the same point caused further jubilation amongst the supporters of the web browser.

However, the end users of the web browsing software application realized very soon that the Firefox web browsing software application was the better web browser.

Despite the hype and hoopla surrounding the release of Microsoft’s Internet Explorer web browsing software application and the Windows Vista operating system, the end users continued to stick to the Firefox web browsing software application. They did so because they were not taken in by the glitz and glamour surrounding the release.

At the end of the day, the end users realized that the Microsoft’s Internet Explorer web browsing software application was still integrated with the Windows operating system and that nothing had fundamentally changed.

The Firefox web browsing software application had caused significant damage to the market share of the Internet Explorer web browsing software application and this was the reason why work was speeded up on Internet Explorer version 7.0.

New features were incorporated not because the developers were committed to the end users but because the developers were committed to the profits and the profits were going down.

The end users soon realized that Internet Explorer version 7.0 was released to enhance the market share of the web browsing software application and not to enhance the web browsing experience of the end users.

Had this been the basic goal of the developers, they would have separated the Internet Explorer web browsing software application from the Windows operating system.

Had the betterment of the web browsing experience of the end user been the basic goal of the developers, they would have removed integration that was the primary reason behind the large number of security flaws and security threats that the web browsing software application was facing.

However, the developers of the Microsoft’s Internet Explorer web browsing software application did not do the same. They are aware that if they separated the Microsoft’s Internet Explorer web browsing software application from the Windows operating system, they could not install security patches for the security flaws in the web browsing software application using the Windows update feature.

They know that they would have to release updates and patches publicly and would have to admit that the web browsing software application is not as secure as it has been made out to be.

The developers of the Internet Explorer web browsing software application preferred offering an inferior web browsing software application as opposed to admitting that they had messed it up as far as the security aspect of the web browsing software application was concerned.

The developers of the Firefox web browser and the end users of the web browsing software applications are aware of the same and that is a reason why they did not desert the Firefox web browser despite the massive publicity campaign by the developers of the Internet Explorer web browsing software application.
