Here is a detailed explanation on the print options made available in Mozilla Firefox!!!

I am sure you will agree with me when I say that printing web pages is one of the easiest tasks to perform if you happened to use Mozilla Firefox as your web browser. Mozilla Firefox is very popular for the ease and convenience that it offers. The features incorporated in Mozilla Firefox are so simple to use that a person with average intelligence and normal computer literacy can master the operation of the Firefox web browser in absolutely no time at all.

Given below is a detailed analysis of the print feature incorporated in the Firefox web browser.

• Format & Options tab in Mozilla Firefox

The first option that you will lay your eyes upon is the orientation option. You have the choice of printing the web page in the portrait or landscape mode. Any person who has used a word processing software application would be aware of the difference between the ‘portrait printing’ mode and the ‘landscape printing’ mode.

• Scale

You can print the web page in its original dimensions or you can reduce the scale of printing of the web page. If you want, you can print the web page at a scale of 50% of the original web page. If you choose this option in the page setup option in the Firefox browser, the final print of the web page will be an exact 50% of the original web page. This option is very useful if the web page is unnecessarily large or extremely small. The scale can be altered to reduce the dimensions of the web page without tampering with the formatting of the web page.

• Shrink To Fit Page Width

This option is very useful if you find the ‘scale’ option described above to be very complicated. All you have to do is to input the size of the paper on which you are printing the web page and instruct the web browser to print the web page in such a manner that the final print fits the page width exactly. This ensures that the dimension of the web page is adjusted to ensure that the web page fits the page on which it is being printed.

• Print Background

Once you have dealt with the options described above, you will have to decide whether you want to incorporate the background images and the background colors in the printout of the web page. If all you want is a hard copy of the text in the web page and you are not concerned about the background images and colors, you can avoid printing the images and colors needlessly. You can simply instruct the web browser not to print the images and colors.

The next tab in the page setup option is the Margins & Header/ Footer tab.

As the very name suggests, this tab lets you determine the margins of the print that you are planning to take. Further, you can decide whether you want the content in the header and footer of the web page to be incorporated in the print out or not. By default, the Firefox web browser incorporates the title of the web page and the url in the header and incorporates the page number of the web page and the time and date of the print out in the footer. If you do not want to clutter the header and the footer, you can instruct the Firefox web browser not to incorporate the contents of the header and the footer in the print.

The simplicity of the print option in Mozilla Firefox makes it very easy to print web pages.
