Firefox has become even more faster
Firefox 3 is the new web browser that is faster and is becoming the hot favorite of many users world over. During the web browser’s launch, it was one of the most heavily downloaded programs ever. What’s great is that, it is free. Here are a few features of Firefox 3:
One Click - Bookmarking: In order to manage your bookmarks easily, Firefox has come up with a smart solution. Click on the star icon at the end of the location bar to bookmark a site. Double click on it to either save the bookmark or tag it. You can group bookmarks by tagging them. For e.g. you can save all sites related to “travel” under the tag “tourism”. So you can easily find your bookmarked sites either by typing the name of the bookmark or that of the tag. As you keep using the names of the bookmarks and the tags regularly, the system will adapt to your preferences.
The “Smart” Folder: You can save your favorite searches in this folder, thus saving you the trouble of remembering them. There are already a few smart folders such as Most Visited, Recently Bookmarked, Recent Tags created by default. The Most Visited folder is available in the Bookmark toolbar while the other two are available in the Bookmark Menu.
Parental Control Settings: Before Firefox 3, kids could download porn using their Firefox browser. However, Firefox 3 now respects the Vista system wide parental control setting. It enables parental control settings, which disable unwanted file, downloads.
Customized Security Settings: Now you can customize Firefox 3 to suit your preferences. So to start the customization, first got to the Location bar, type in “about: config” and press Enter. Then you start making the changes and once you are done, restart the browser, and enjoy a thoroughly personalized browsing experience. You can change the amount of memory that the browser should cache in. Because Firefox caches in 512 MB of content from the web, most users wouldn’t want that much of space to be occupied by web content.
Automated Updates: Firefox’s automated update system always checks whether you are using the latest version and notifies you when a security update is available. The update system provides updates for Firefox on Windows, Mac OS, and Linux.
Password Manager: Firefox 3 has a smarter and less annoying Password Manager. On the upper left hand corner below the address bar, it is written “Do you want Firefox to remember this password?” Thus, Firefox 3 provides you a pop-up free way to help remember your passwords.
Session Restore: The most annoying thing about losing connection to your server or an unexpected shutdown of your PC is that your session is lost and so is your data. So to recover lost sessions, Mozilla Firefox 3 has come with a great way. In Tools- Options go to the Main tab and you will get a variety of options. Just select the third option, which says “Show my windows and tabs from last time” and your work is done. So now, even if you leave all the tabs of the web browser open and shut down your PC, by following the above procedure you can easily restore your sessions.
Tabs: Firefox 3 gives you a unique tabbed browsing experience. The sites appear as tabs and can be accessed by clicking on them. If you close a tab by mistake, then no need to worry. In the History menu view “Recently Closed Tabs” and pick the one, which you want to reopen. Firefox 3 also offers you a smooth tab scrolling experience. You can just scroll the tabs to open them.
