The Firefox diagnostic page offers a wealth of information for a Firefox user in trouble!!!

The Firefox community’s diagnostic page contains a list of standard diagnostic steps that each and every end user is recommended to implement if the Firefox web browsing software application stops functioning or begins to malfunction. The solutions suggested in the standard diagnostic steps are very elementary in nature. However, this is a wise way to proceed as this ensures that the time and effort of the end user is not unnecessarily wasted in finding complex solutions for simple and minor problems.

The first solution offered is the simplest one. The end user is advised to exit the Firefox web browsing software application and reboot the computer. It may be very difficult to explain why rebooting the computer solves the problem but there is no denying that this is a very effective solution. Rebooting the computer removes any temporary flaw that may have found its way into the Firefox web browser. The reason why this solution is offered as the primary solution is that this solution is easiest and quickest to implement. If the problem in the Firefox web browsing software application is solved by simply rebooting the computer, who would not want to implement this solution before implementing any other solution that involves a lot more time and effort.

If this does not solve the problem and if you find that the Firefox web browser does not operate normally, the Firefox diagnostic page suggests the end user to open the Firefox and clear the browser cache files. If the end user is stuck in a position where the Firefox web browser simply refuses to start, the end user should start the Firefox web browser in the safe mode. Just like the Windows operating system offers a safe mode that enables the end user to start the operating system using only the essential features and files, the Firefox web browser too offers a safe startup mode. The safe startup mode of the Firefox web browser disables all extensions, themes, add-ons and plug-ins that may interfere with the operation of the Firefox web browser. Since most of the problems that crop up in the Firefox web browser result from the installation of incompatible extensions, the disabling of the Firefox extensions ensure that the Firefox web browser does not refuse from starting up.

Once the Firefox web browser is opened, in the normal mode or in the safe mode, the end user is advised to open the Tools menu, click on the options button and click on the privacy tab. The end use is advised to clear the private data. The end user can also make use of the ‘Ctrl+Shift+Del’ keyboard shortcut to clear the files in the cache folder. As we all know, the cache folder is the folder where the web pages surfed by the end user are stored for future reference. There is a possibility that any flaw in the programming of the web page or even the presence of a virus in the web page may be preventing the Firefox web browser from operating normally. Clearing the web browser cache will solve the problem. Hence, if rebooting the computer does not work, the end user should clear the browser cache. In fact, the end user is advised not to stop at merely clearing the web browser cache but to clear the entire web browsing history with cookies, download history and all other details to get the Firefox web browser back on track.

The Firefox diagnostic page is very comprehensive. It starts from the simplest solutions and proceeds to offer more and more complex solutions to the end user to get the Firefox web browser up and running.
