How to customize toolbar of Firefox
When you open Firefox, you will see the toolbar at the top. Firefox enables users to customize its toolbar. So if you want you can re-arrange spacing, add tools and much more to your toolbar. Customizing the toolbar means you can organize, re-arrange, remove, and add buttons to enhance your Firefox experience and also to suit your requirements.
If you want to customize the toolbar then do the following:
1] From Firefox menu, you have to select View menu.
2] From view menu select toolbar sub menu
3] In toolbar sub menu select Customize to open customize toolbar window.
How to add a menu item to Firefox toolbar
1] From customize toolbar window, select the item that you want to include in your toolbar and then drag the selected item onto the toolbar
2] The item gets included in the toolbar. If you want to add a specific item that is not available in customize toolbar window then there will be an add-on that will include the item you desire.
Removing a menu item from toolbar:
1] For removing an item, you have to click on item in toolbar and then drag it to customize toolbar window
2] The menu item is then removed from toolbar
Re-arranging items on toolbar: When you open customize toolbar window, to re-arrange items in toolbar, you have to simply click and then drag them.
For repositioning the toolbar item, you have to click on it and then hold down your mouse button. When you drag the item, a black line will appear that indicates in desired destination. For placing it in the location indicated on the toolbar, you have to release mouse button. You will find that the item is now repositioned.
Special items: The special items mentioned below can be included in the toolbar in order to group items and change spacing between the items
Separator: This is a vertical separator bar used for grouping similar tools together.
Space: If you want to create a small space between 2 items in toolbar then you should select this item. Add multiple instances of space item for creating larger space.
Flexible space: Using this item, you can add space of adjustable width to toolbar so that toolbar can fill the width of your browser window.
Do you want to change the appearance of your toolbar? Well, this possible using toolbar appearance options. At the bottom of customize toolbar window, you will find some additional options to change appearance of toolbar.
Show: From show drop down menu, you can select what to display in toolbar. By default, Firefox displays Icons. You can display text, icons or text and icons together.
Use small icons: If you want to save screen space in toolbar then you have to select this option for displaying tools. Screen space is conserved as smaller icons are displayed It is also possible to create a completely new toolbar. So if you want to create new toolbar, then you have to click on 'Add new toolbar'. A New toolbar Dialog box will appear. In New toolbar dialog, you have to enter the name of your choice for the toolbar and then click on 'Add New toolbar'. Tool bar is then created in toolbar area across the screen. The toolbar appears as a blank band. Adding new items to the toolbar is a very easy. All you have to do is click the item and then drag into this band.
For restoring your toolbar to default settings then you have to click on restore default set. If you want to see those changes that you have made to your toolbar then click on ‘Done’ button.
