Then there is one more feature i.e. tagging. This feature is primarily associated with Places. However, it can be useful for making some type of changes to the to the location bar as well. If you are viewing any webpage e and are interested in that web page and want to view it later, you can just click on the star shaped icon in the right side corner of the location bar and the page will be bookmarked.
Then you get the options regarding choosing the folder in which you want that bookmark. At the same time you also get the option to tag that page. Just click on that option and give any appropriate tag which you can use later for searching for that page.
The location bar is a great addition in the new version. This bar is similar to search bar, however the difference is that in the location bar you do not need to type in the entire and correct web address. In most cases the web addressees are long and confusing and therefore an error can occur while typing it. In such a case you would not be able to access that website or webpage.
However when you try typing the web addresses in the location bar, you do not need to worry about such this at all. When you just begin typing the web address for any webpage or website you would get an auto complete list of relevant suggestions. Just click an on the correct one and you would be taken to your desired webpage.
The auto complete feature of the location bar does not just look for the web addresses. But it will also search your bookmarks, history, tags, etc and therefore you will get very compressive results.
The suggestions that you get in the location bar, are quite clearly displayed. The different suggestions are displayed in different lines. Moreover the colors for the page title and web address would be different, according to the study on human cognition. This will make it much more simpler for you to understand and focus on what you wanted. Therefore, you can know whether you are entering the web address or the page title, it will be much easier for you to understand which of the suggestions would provide you what you were looking for.
Besides all this the location bar will also highlight the match result and therefore you can load it comfortably. The Beta 4 version is also keeps a track of your internet activities and it keeps a record of it. Moreover if you repeat these activities over and over again, it will save them as your preferences and therefore in the future will be able to provide you better suggestions. Thus is able to learn and adapt itself.
Beta 4 also features, support fro multiword searches like so “Firefox downloads” filter address, titles, and tags, which contain both words. However it is not necessarily always in this order. Many users believe that this is the best feature which Firefox 3 has. It will justify Places large resource investment. It is expected to become a landmark in the development of web browsers. Once you are accustomed to this feature you would just love it.
Firefox 3 Beta 4 also features updates in every platform. If you are using windows XP or Vista, you wills see a large part of the planned new XP icons on the main toolbar of Firefox. They will also appear on the Options window, download manager and a lot of other places as well. Beta 4 will also features some small changes in the buttons like back and forward. The arrow styles for these buttons are better blended with respect to the other buttons like stop, reload, etc.
