Another Great Firefox Extension
It’s called “AboutSite†and it’s an information extension. Once you install it, anywhere you right-click on a web page you will have a menu to get more information from any one of eleven major information sources on the interweb. These are the websites listed in that menu:
- Alexa – for traffic detail and related sites
- Del.icio.us – for linkbacks
- Google – for related pages, cache and link information
- Kinja – site readers
- Netcraft – reports
- Open Directory – site listing
- Popdex search - citations
- Technorati – link cosmos
- Wayback Machine – archive
- Whois – query
- Yahoo – linkdomain
INSTALLATION NOTE: When you click on the download link, a yellow bar will appear across the page saying something along the lines of "Firefox prevented this site from installing software." It's a security precaution - if you edit your options and "allow" scribbling.net to install the extension, it should work. Be sure to restart Firefox to see it in your context menu.
