Internet users often ask whether installing Firefox browser on Windows is an easy task. Before you think of installing this awesome browser, check whether your computer is satisfying system requirements.
How to install Firefox browser on Windows operating system:
In order to achieve the desired task, accessing Firefox download page is required. Once you visit the site it is capable of detecting the language and platform on your computer and accordingly it recommends the Firefox edition that will suit your pc requirements. For downloading Firefox browser on a different OS than detected, you will have to do a few things. Click on the option “Other Systems and Languages” and you will be able to view a list of options available. You need to load the setup file without fail into your computer.
When you are installing Firefox browser, make sure that no other software program is running on your pc. Running other programs may slow down the installation process. In order to start the installation process, you will have to click twice on the file. Most of the computers today come with Windows Vista operating system. People who are using Windows Vista will see user account control prompt. In such a case, allow set up process to run by simply clicking on the Continue button.
A welcome screen will appear. When you click on the next button, you will be taken to setup type screen. By default, a standard setup option is selected. If you select this option, your Firefox will come with common configuration. Checkmark the option “Use Firebox browser as default browser”, in case you wish to use Firefox application for all websites including your mail application or Html document. At this point, set up process starts. It will take only a few minutes. Before you click on the “Finish” button, ensure that files are copied correctly.If you have checked the checkbox commonly referred as “Launch Firefox now”, Firefox browser will open immediately as soon as you click on the “Finish” button.
If you are using Mac operating system, then just download disk image onto your desktop. Once downloading process is complete, disk image might open onto your desktop that contains Firefox application. Double click on Firefox dmg icon and a finder window will appear, containing Firefox application. Now drag Firefox icon into applications folder. Once this is done, you will have to eject disk image by simply selecting in finder window and then pressing Cmd + E keys or else you can use Finder's file menu and then eject option as shown below.
If you observe that Firefox disk image is not ejecting, it is because of the presence of Leopard bug. This bug prevents disk ejection, even after you have copied files. However there is a solution to this problem. You can eject disk via disk utility. In case you are making use of Leopard, then you are warned that you have downloaded Firefox from internet. As you have downloaded Firefox from official site, you need to click on Open button. When you start Firefox browser, it won't be given the status of default browser. A dialog box will come and tell you about this. That if you open an HTML document or a link in mail application, it definitely won't open in Firefox browser.
If you want that Firefox should be the default browser of the system then the first thing that you need to do is click on “yes” button to ensure that it is your default browser. In case you are simply trying out Firefox browser you will have to click on the “No” button.
